Frédéric Grimaud

By Mikhail Kachakhidze on November 23, 2007 11:57 Call for entries 0

I have always seen my surroundings with cameras. My great grandfather held a photography trade in Vence, my grandfather and my mother also did a lot of black and white. Autodidact, I seriously started photography in black and white and in color in 1997 during my biology studies. At first I was especially focused on landscapes and abstract. Later on I undertook works on the current musics in overprinting since 1997 ( no digital enhancement, overprintings carried out in slides during the shooting) which I still continue today. Currently I am interested in the man, his condition and those we forget. I find myself a lot more in documentaries, working on the ground, rather than in the studio. I consider esthetism with great importance ! These precise moments where the “painting” seems still for eternity are unique moments to which I savour the existence. I have always wanted to keep traces, souvenirs. I do not seek to limit myself and work on all the themes that touch me: Landscape, portraits, concerts, dance et shows in general, macrography, abstract, travels, textures, glances, wastelands, movements… make up my universe. It is my way of progressing. My goal being to carry out documentaries for magazines and agencies. http://marici.free.fr Events : . Next exhibition: During 2008 in the Kernotart gallery in the 15th district, on the industrial wasteland theme in concordance with the book “La Mauvaise Herbe Urbaine” . Documentary on the Children of the streets of Kathmandu, Népal 2007. . 1st prize at the international photography contest 2007 (ICA) Lucie Awards in the Still life category (www.photoawards.com) . 2nd place – Merit of Excellence – Black & White Spider Awards 2007 contest, Still Life category .Photography exhibition of the “Lumieres Rock” concert at Objectif Bastille, Paris, December 2006 to January 2007 . “My India” exhibition at the VISA Off, during the photo-documentary “Visa pour l’image 2006 festival, Perpignan Books: Ils sont le Conseil général de l’Eure (les métiers du Département in black and white, square format) La Mauvaise Herbe Urbaine (Graffitis and work on wastelands: paintings, textures, details, plans…) In the making: . An order place from the Conseil général de Seine-Maritime to put forward the interiors of the Castle of Clères for a photographic work ( exhibition from july 2008 to january 2009 in the parc) Visit his page on Eyeka.

Contract second version : Whats new ?

By Mikhail Kachakhidze on November 21, 2007 16:24 Call for entries 0

As you may surely have noticed, Eyeka has evolved into a Marketplace which enables selling your contents on-line. Evolution of service means obviously evolution of the contract. Eyeka always had as a goal to promote and sell our photos and videos, we now have the tools that go with it J.

The website’s evolution enables you to choose between the contents you want to sell and those that you would like to protect (invisible on the website = not for sale ).

That way you can configure all your contents at once in “ My preferences” or configure each photo and video by going to “Upload” and clicking next to your photo/video, on “ Modify information”.

In other new features, we also find selling price scales, linked to different licenses depending on the intended uses, that way we can now guarantee a selling price and a pay that goes with it. Eyeka’s money is the credit and one credit equals 0.4€.

As we have to guarantee to our buyers who use the Web or Mobile TV features the possibility to operate the photos and videos they buy on the website, your contents are still available 6 months after the closing of your account. During this period, you obviously continue to be paid and your contents are not available in new TVs or available for download.

90% of the authors we have recently questioned have a drive to win money in selling their creations. We are proud to be sharing with you this new step for Eyeka and we will of course continue to improve our website.

We are always at your disposal, so don’t hesitate to send us a mail and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Want to know everything about Eyeka? Here’s the Q&A you were waiting for!

By Mikhail Kachakhidze on May 02, 2007 09:30 Announcements 0

1/ What is Eyeka? It’s a video-and-photo website dedicated to quality original works. Eyeka selects and edits these works and distributes them. In short, Eyeka acts as an agent for creators. 2/ What makes Eyeka different from YouTube or Flickr? Eyeka is not a hosting service and accepts only works on which authors hold intellectual property rights. Beyond communal capabilities such as sharing and blogging pictures and videos, Eyeka offers much more. 3/ What’s unique about Eyeka? Eyeka is commited to authorship, first by pledging to respect authors’ rights. Second, by helping authors distribute their works and thus get royalties. 4/ Whom does Eyeka want to reach? All creators, be they amateurs or professionals, wannabe poets or recognized artists! 5/ What advantages for authors? Not only can you gain recognition but also an opportunity to be syndicated and make money from royalties. 6/ Are there any success stories yet? Yes. As we speak, Alex Chan is filming a series assigned by Eyeka and sold to 20minutes.fr and AB-TV Productions. World of Electors is broadcast from April 16 to May 7 on channel NT1 and 20minutes.fr
