Contract second version : Whats new ?

By Mikhail Kachakhidze on November 21, 2007 16:24 Call for entries 0

As you may surely have noticed, Eyeka has evolved into a Marketplace which enables selling your contents on-line. Evolution of service means obviously evolution of the contract. Eyeka always had as a goal to promote and sell our photos and videos, we now have the tools that go with it J.

The website’s evolution enables you to choose between the contents you want to sell and those that you would like to protect (invisible on the website = not for sale ).

That way you can configure all your contents at once in “ My preferences” or configure each photo and video by going to “Upload” and clicking next to your photo/video, on “ Modify information”.

In other new features, we also find selling price scales, linked to different licenses depending on the intended uses, that way we can now guarantee a selling price and a pay that goes with it. Eyeka’s money is the credit and one credit equals 0.4€.

As we have to guarantee to our buyers who use the Web or Mobile TV features the possibility to operate the photos and videos they buy on the website, your contents are still available 6 months after the closing of your account. During this period, you obviously continue to be paid and your contents are not available in new TVs or available for download.

90% of the authors we have recently questioned have a drive to win money in selling their creations. We are proud to be sharing with you this new step for Eyeka and we will of course continue to improve our website.

We are always at your disposal, so don’t hesitate to send us a mail and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Want to know everything about Eyeka? Here’s the Q&A you were waiting for!

By Mikhail Kachakhidze on May 02, 2007 09:30 Announcements 0

1/ What is Eyeka? It’s a video-and-photo website dedicated to quality original works. Eyeka selects and edits these works and distributes them. In short, Eyeka acts as an agent for creators. 2/ What makes Eyeka different from YouTube or Flickr? Eyeka is not a hosting service and accepts only works on which authors hold intellectual property rights. Beyond communal capabilities such as sharing and blogging pictures and videos, Eyeka offers much more. 3/ What’s unique about Eyeka? Eyeka is commited to authorship, first by pledging to respect authors’ rights. Second, by helping authors distribute their works and thus get royalties. 4/ Whom does Eyeka want to reach? All creators, be they amateurs or professionals, wannabe poets or recognized artists! 5/ What advantages for authors? Not only can you gain recognition but also an opportunity to be syndicated and make money from royalties. 6/ Are there any success stories yet? Yes. As we speak, Alex Chan is filming a series assigned by Eyeka and sold to 20minutes.fr and AB-TV Productions. World of Electors is broadcast from April 16 to May 7 on channel NT1 and 20minutes.fr

A few tips on some site's key functionnalities

By Mikhail Kachakhidze on April 12, 2007 16:07 Products And Features 0

Judging by the detailed comments posted by Gilles, it seems that some of the site’s functionalities are not really obvious to many of you. Here is a detailed answer which I hope will be helpful. Uploading your images When using the Upload function, you can actually upload as many photos and/or videos as you wish: each time you fill-in the field and click on “browse”, a new line with an empty field appears underneath. There’s no limitation but the more files you upload at once, the longer the upload. Can be a bit frustrating if there is a connection “hiccup” during the upload… ? We also provide a Photo folder upload which allows you to transmit a whole series of pictures without having to enter them one by one. Organizing your images To organize your collections you have two options : - before upload : on the Upload page, choose the collection where you want to integrate your new images - after upload : on the My collections page, the first icon: All my media lists all your uploaded media, allows you to select any of them and drag-n-drop them in any collection. Showing and publishing images Showing and publishing your images is quite simple: All pictures and videos are moderated before publication in order to check their quality and originality. Once moderated, works can be viewed on the site. To blog one of your collections, all you have to do is: 1. go to My collections page 2. choose a collection 3. in the lower box where you see stamp-sized pix, click on Blog me 4. a preview appears: beneath the player you’ll find a code/link to copy and paste into your blog You can also create a lightbox including your and other people’s images and blog it : 1. on the My collection page, go to the bottom of the page (lightbox tab) 2. click on the New button and name your lightbox 3. drag-n-drop in the grey area the pix and/or videos you selected 4. click on My lightboxes (upper-left corner) 5. select the lightbox you created 6. in the lower box where you see stamp-sized pix, click on Blog me 7. a preview appears: beneath the player you’ll find a code/link to copy and paste into your blog So, you may ask: what’s the difference between a Collection and a Lightbox? A Collection allows you to edit your OWN work while in a Lightbox you can put any media from the site. Did you find these tips useful? Don’t hesitate to let us know.
