This month, we would like to introduce one of our dear creators from India, saadithya! This creative mind is very committed to innovation, he even won 2 awards from prestigious and famous MIT… This is impressive! Let’s read more about this creator who always proposes ingenious ideas.

Tell us a bit more about yourself!

I am Aadhithya, I live in Bangalore, India. I work as a senior data analyst at Jones Lang Lasalle. I have a mechanical engineering degree. I am also an innovator & inventor, I love solving technical problems, I use cross pollination of technologies across various industries to solve innovation problems and in this process, I have won 40+ grand innovation awards from various companies & institutions across the world including 2 awards from prestigious MIT.

I am also the founder of an innovation listing portal called Givemechallenge.com, which help people like me find innovation opportunities & scholarships across the globe, using Givemechallenge I encourage people to solve problems, get recognition & awards for their efforts.

My life oscillates between 2 cities Kannur, Kerala & Bangalore, Karnataka my hometown & place of work respectively separated by approx. 400 kms. I like the diversity & simplicity of my country, there is a solution for every problem in the world hiding somewhere in my country I am motivated by this aspect too. A few things that characterizes me are simplicity & innovation, most of my solutions use very simple technologies in a manner that was never thought possible before. Also, I am very keen on acquiring knowledge through multiple mediums in a race against time to be updated about the technical innovations currently hitting the market.

I also love travelling to new places, meeting people & collecting gadgets.

How did you find out about eyeka?

As mentioned above I am the founder of an innovation listing portal that lists innovation opportunities across the world, so I used to list innovation opportunities at Eyeka to make opportunities accessible to all, I originally discovered it by scanning the web for opportunities to list in my portal.

Do you have a creative process? If so, can you share a bit of your secret with our community? Where do you look for inspiration?

I use my interstices very well, that is the time between times which is usually wasted by most of the people like the time you spend while travelling in a bus, waiting for a cab, a walk on the road. I lock my targets on specific innovation problems and look for solutions for this problem in my mind throughout the day, some of the objects that you see and hear might act as the break through or spark that you need to kick start the solution for your problem. It is also important to reward yourself for your success, this is something most of us take for granted, it could be anything your mind and body likes. Say for example if you like a specific flavor of an ice cream that could be the simple reward for your success or may be a trip to your favorite destination/holiday.

When submitting an entry, how do you keep positive if it is rejected or not selected as a winning entry?

While submitting the solution itself based on your experience and the careful analysis of the brief you can identify if the solution can be a winning entry or not and also predict the chances of other people proposing the similar idea. If you are sure to have a novel solution then polish the concept with detailed explanation and illustration this would help you cross the first review and if it gets rejected make it a point to re-work on it and get it accepted, I understand this is a trouble and very disappointing to not even cross the first review but it might be worth the effort because if it gets rejected here in the review itself your initial effort is gone in complete vain without even a chance of victory.

For the final winning submission, we need to keep in mind that only best & novel solution will win, if the solution exists elsewhere already then, the chances of it loosing is high. Winning may not be easy but creating quality solutions is easier if you do it in an organized manner and regularly.

What would you like to achieve (or have already achieved) with the prizes you will win/have won?

I was fortunate enough to win 40+ grand innovation awards and in this process, I got to visit 14+ countries. I have got opportunities to present my project at prestigious institutes like MIT, I have been invited to launch products including cars where my technology was proposed by me, I have got opportunity to present my projects and receive awards virtually with help of robots on my behalf controlled by me thousands of miles away, being a mechanical engineer didn’t stop me from winning multiple medical challenges where most of the participants where doctors and health specialists. Also, my profound love for computers & digital technologies earned me a job in data science despite by primary education in mechanical engineering.

I would like to continue to solve technical innovation problems by churning out solutions to problems at even rapid scale with help of a specialist team so that specialists can take up their own parts like modelling, design, presentation, animation which would leave me room for more thinking and rapid execution of projects and making ideas into reality faster.  I would also be interested in organizational level control in reshaping innovation in an organization with roles like chief innovation officer that gives me the ability to reshape & improvise existing systems in the organization by making it more efficient and cost effective. Also by bringing in new technologies to the organization continuously to stay ahead of the competition.

I would also like to travel across the planet exploring new places & people.

If you had to describe eyeka in 3 words, what would they be?

Crowdsourced Innovation online

Finally, is there anything you would like to share with our creators (secret, tip…)?

If you genuinely try to find out a solution for a problem by researching & learning from the past regularly by acquiring new skills and knowledge in the process, the easier it gets to the victory post. Also, to judge the novelty of your solution it is important to stay updated about the latest technology so that you know what exists in the market and not. Most important part to submitting an entry is to have fun yourself learning about a problem and solving it in my opinion.

To discover the new innovation opportunities including the ones from Eyeka you may visit Givemechallenge.com or “College Scholarships” app at playstore

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scholar.app&hl=en

we usually gets information early about most of the opportunities and you can easily navigate in the app or site and select what interests you and work on solving the same, I Use mark a favorite option with a star to shortlist the ones that I want to work on.

Thank you very much

Best regards
