Creativity is not a talent, it’s a way of operating. We all have an inner wild mind so don’t tame it, express yourself and let all your creativity show! This month, we’re featuring one of our best creators giannopoulos_panos . Scroll down to find out his story!
Tell us a bit more about yourself
Hello everybody, my name is Panos and I live in Athens Greece. I studied Mechanical Engineering in my home country Greece and then I did my Master’s degree in the UK , in Mechanical Engineering again.
Currently I work as a Product Design Engineer in a Multinational company that is focused on consumer goods.
I am infatuated by the process of creating something out of nothing that’s why I enjoy painting and sketching amongst other things.
I love to travel, experience new cultures and meet different people. I consider myself as a very creative person and I get inspired by so many things I see around me.
I am a self-taught Photoshop user that has never studied graphic arts of any sort :) although because of my work as a Product Design Engineer I collaborate with Industrial designers and Marketeers on a daily basis so I am very exposed to such influences.
eYeka provided me with another channel to express my many thoughts and ideas so eYeka thank you for that.
How did you find out about eYeka?
First time I heard about crowdsourcing I googled it and amongst the results, I stumbled upon eYeka. I checked the site out and that was it. My eYeka journey begun. I joined at the end of 2016 but I really got involved in 2017.I didn’t believe that I could actually make some money out of this but after a year and 11 wins I guess I don’t have any second thoughts anymore .
Do you have a creative process? If so, can you share a bit of your secret with our community? Where do you look for inspiration?
Most of the times ideas just pop into my head once I read a Brief. I do a screening on the web just to make sure that something similar does not exist and then I move on to the idea realization.
So, I guess the answer is that I don’t have a specific process.
When submitting an entry, how do you keep positive if it is rejected or not selected as a winning entry?
Ha ha ha, I don’t… I get very frustrated most of the times especially when I believe that an idea/concept that I had was really great.
Well I guess that it’s good thing that eYeka has many active contents most of the time, so I forget the past quickly and I move on towards new idea explorations.
What would you like to achieve (or have already achieved) with the prizes you will win/have won?
I like to travel a lot, so prizes help. I also invested some money on a Wacom Digitizer that I don't know how to fully use yet :) But I guess I will eventually.
If you had to describe eYeka in 3 words, what would they be?
If I had to describe eYeka in 3 words, that would be: creation, opportunity, self-validation
Finally, is there anything you would like to share with our creators (secret, tip…)?
Hmmm…I guess don’t give up if you don’t win straight away. Just keep on trying. There is a ‘’learning period’’ that helps you understand how to communicate your ideas better or how to be more precise and effective when you want to get a message through. Just keep on trying.
Thank you Panos! We’re more than excited to see what you can come up with in our next challenges!
