More time for Lux contest!

Aug 18

Lux_Banner

Hello everyone! ^^

Lux has decided to extend the contest just for your guys. Cos we’ve received comments from some of you, saying that there was not enough time for you to create an entry due to the busy schedule, etc., when you actually would very much like to participate.

Therefore, it has been decided that the contest will be extended for one more week! It means more time for you to create your entries! :D

If you are participating, do remember these few points below:

  1. You do not need to feature an artist/talent as the “true beauty” in your video. If you are featuring one, please make sure that her face is not shown, because the main point of the video is the revealing of the “true beauty” at the end of the video. The “true beauty” will be the photo of the Facebook user who will be using a Facebook application to upload her photo to the end frame when the “true beauty” is revealed.

  2. Your entry has to be able to build excitement and anticipation leading to the big reveal of the “true beauty”.

  3. With regards to the reference video we are showing on the contest page, please note that it is just to show you how it builds anticipation to the viewers. As for the tone and manners of your entry, please make sure that it is elegant, glamorous and sophisticated.

  4. Don’t forget to spare some space on the last frame that will be used to insert the picture of the “true beauty” later on. You can find out more on the “Guidelines” in the brief.

Let us give you an example: Imagine the world’s most famous artist is going to finally release his masterpiece to the world. Everyone from all around the world gathers at the gallery just to catch a glimpse of this masterpiece. Imagine the anticipation, the enthusiasm of the audience, waiting for the reveal of the masterpiece.

Finally, the moment has come. The great artist is going to reveal his masterpiece. The audience simply holds their breath while the red suede fabric covering the painting drops on the floor.

The masterpiece is revealed. It shows a true beauty.

Now that is the kind of atmosphere we would like to see in your video: anticipation and excitement that leads to the big reveal of the “true beauty”. It has to be elegant and sophisticated. Imagine yourself as one of the audience there, and maybe it will make it easier for you to come up with an idea. ;)

But, please do not use this story right away, because it was meant to give you an idea on how the feeling of excitement and anticipation should be in your entry. :)

And here’s another example from one of our creators. Take a look:

So guys, let’s grab your gears now and unleash your creativity. Create the trend, break the rules, don’t be a follower, and show us the excitement leading to the big reveal of a true beauty!

Click here to participate! Remember, 25th August 2011 is the new deadline ;)

Something regarding ANEW contest

Aug 16

Anew

Hi guys,

ANEW contest is ending in 2 weeks time, so here’s some tips for you: when you are working on the entries for ANEW, do remember that each of your ad must be able to show the key selling points (the information on these can be found under ‘Appendix’) of each product range and the targeted age group as well.

For example: Reversalist is targeted to women in their forties who want to reverse the signs of ageing, and try to turn back the proverbial clock. These products target wrinkles, firmness and discoloration with a technology called “Actvinol” (these are the key selling points). So, in your entry, you need to show what are the key selling points or benefits of this Reversalist range, and who would need it (women in their 40s).

These 2 points are very important because if you did not show it clearly, then it will be difficult for us and for ANEW to review your entries because we will not know which ad is for which age group. Don’t you think so? ;)

Remember, we are looking for beauty ads that stand out from other beauty ads you’ve ever seen. So show us your talent!

Looking forward to see your creations, guys! ;)

A slight change for Maurice Lacroix ‘Never Stop Moving’

Jan 27

ML_Blog_EN

Hello guys!

We have an announcement for Maurice Lacroix ‘Never Stop Moving’.

There’s a slight change to the brief. (No, no, don’t beat us yet! It’s not a major change :) )

Initially we asked you to complete this sentence in order to help you in making your video/animation:

“I never stop ______”. Remember?

Now, that sentence is not necessary anymore. All we need is for you to create a 30-60 seconds video or animation to tell us what is that one motivation in your life that keeps you in motion, that you will never stop moving until you get it.

Please note that you should always link the story back to the “Never Stop Moving” tagline. It can be done through featuring a Maurice Lacroix watch in your video. If you do not have a Maurice Lacroix watch, feel free to use the product shot that we’ve provided in the contest page, or any other watch that you have (but please note that you have to blur the watch face off).

Please click here to see the revised brief and to participate if you haven’t. And just a friendly reminder, Maurice Lacroix ‘Never Stop Moving’ will end on 10th February 2011. So do submit your entry early so our moderators can advise you on any changes if necessary :)

Thanks for your understanding and we can’t wait to receive creative entries from you! :D

Cheers,

Xuan and Amelia

Explanation on Maurice Lacroix “Never Stop Moving”

Jan 13

ML_Blog_EN

Maurice Lacroix “Never Stop Moving” has been going on for almost 3 weeks now, and we have received several entries (which are hidden, btw. Read here about the hidden media if you haven’t).

However, the entries we’ve received are mostly out of brief :(

Therefore, we would like to explain the brief further today so you may understand it better.

First of all, before start doing your entry, do think of what your conviction is. What is that one thing that you will never stop pursuing no matter what challenges life throws at you? For example: My conviction is to be a famous pianist.

Secondly, remember this following sentence?

“I never stop _________________”

The uncompleted sentence above is your main guide to create your entries.

Ok, so I want to be a pianist. So what should I do in order to reach my dream to be one? Practicing diligently, attending music workshops and classes, etc. Therefore, I never stop playing piano.

The “I never stop _____” sentence is not necessary to be included in the video/animation. It is just a guide for you to generate more ideas for your entry.

Once you’ve got the 2 points above, you may start to do your entry! :D

And do remember that you have to use “Futura” as the font type in your video/animation, and you have to include the sentence “Never stop moving” At the end frame of your video/animation.

Below are examples on how someone strives to pursue his/her conviction. As always, do not copy the whole idea, but just make them as references. Remember, the length of your video/animation should be within 30-60 seconds.

Inspiring enough? Let’s show us your conviction! :D

Cheers,

Amelia and Xuan

What’s wrong? I can’t see others’ submitted entries for that CFE!

Jan 13

Some of you noticed that you are not able to view the submitted entries for the following CFEs: Microsoft, Gum Concept,  SMUMaurice Lacroix,… and have been asking us what’s wrong with that.

The answer is: there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact, we would like to inform you that from now on, more and more submitted media/entries will not be publicly displayed on CFE pages until that the winners will have been picked by the jury and published on this blog.

The reason for this is to avoid cheating and plagiarism. No one  like being copied, right?

We realized that many of you  guys usually upload your media at the last minute to avoid anyone else from copying your idea. This isn’t a problem at all, but keep in mind that if your entry doesn’t meet the requirements/brief, it will simply be rejected with no other chance to bring the required changes before the deadline. That is why we always encourage you to submit your media as early as possible so eYeka’s moderators can give you advices  on how to make your media meet the brief’s requirements the best.

With this new hidden entries feature, you will not have to worry about other participants copying your idea anymore simply because they won’t be able to see your entry and vice versa! :)

What do you think about this? Let us know!

Cheers,
The eYeka team

Update on the Piaget Brief

Mar 05

Hey everyone,

Thanks for your interest in the Piaget contest. We would like to inform you that there are important changes on the Piaget competition. Unfortunately, Piaget’s event at Place Vendome is cancelled due to legal reasons and as such, we have no choice but to amend the brief which was originally to create a video around the keywords “Piaget, Place Vendome and Celebration”.

This is a very difficult decision as we understand that many of you have started working on the existing brief and have put in a lot of effort. We’ve tried our best to avoid any changes but the circumstance makes it unavoidable.

For all those who submitted their entries in time for the Early Bird deadline, we will update you on Monday (8 March 2010). Meanwhile, the revised brief is currently being developed so please stay tuned for more updates! Again, please accept our sincerest apologies.

Sorry once again,

Nicolas

Sennheiser Headphones Design Competition follow up

Oct 06

Hey everyone,

The client is still in the process of shortlisting the designs to be diplayed onto the microsite.

As stated in the contest rules, out of the total entries received a shortlist will be made. The shortlisted entries will then be divided into three groups: October, November and December with 15 winners announced each month. So the winners will not be announced at one go, but rather, there will be three announcements made.

We’ll inform everyone once the shortlist has been made.

Sorry about the delays once again….

ncrease your chances of winning, here’s a recap of the requirements to follow:- Upload high-resolution JPEG/TIFF files of your design on Eyeka, minimum resolution of 150dpi. The size should be at least 1366 x 758 pixels.
