Clarification on Kindness and Diversity

Jul 31

Dear creators,

With less than a week to go to the end of Silhouettes Packaging contest, I understand that this is a pretty short one and therefore, I would like to clarify a little bit more about ‘Kindness’ and ‘Diversity’ – the two main elements that your design should be based on:

Stretch your imagination and show us your creativity! What if kindness was an object? How would it look like (i.e.: soft, tender, delicate,…)? What colour would it be (i.e.: blue, white, yellow,…)?

What about diversity? What kind of object would it be (i.e.: strong, solid,…)? What colour would it be (i.e.: rainbow, polkadot,…)?

These points will help you to shape up your ideas and then you may apply it onto the packaging design.

Since the contest ends this Sunday, 5th August, we really encourage you to submit your entry as early as possible so we could advise you on any changes if needed. Otherwise, if we found out that your entry does not meet the brief after it ends, we will not be able to give you a chance to re-submit it. And don’t forget, your entry has to be in English ;)

Should you have any question, we are just an email away at support-en@eyeka.com

Create an inspiring, engaging poster with tagline for eYeka!

Jul 27

All great brands use powerful evocative imagery with a tagline when they communicate. A photograph or illustration coupled with a short, catchy sentence is all that’s needed to tell the World who they are, what they believe in, what they do and how they can play a part in your life.

Here’s the challenge for you: Create a poster or print ad for eYeka that engages and inspires both our community and our clients.

We want a tagline that will inspire and excite those who read it. Your proposed tagline should appeal to both our community of creative individuals as well as the brands that come to eYeka for fresh creative ideas.

We have EUR 1,000 for the best creation!

Don’t forget to use the discuss tab or sent us an e-mail to support-en@eyeka.com if you have any doubt.

This contest will be running until 16th August 2012. We look forward too seeing your creation :)

Pampers winners are here!

Jul 25

Remember some weeks ago, we asked you to reinvent Pampers’ packaging for modern moms and dads to create a better and more premium experience when they buy, choose, carry, store and use Pampers?
We received 200 over entries in the end and your works are great! Well done everyone :)

Today we are delighted to announce the 3 winners of Pampers contest. Please find below some words from the happy winners as well:

First Prize of EUR 3,000 goes to Mrno (China) with The Rolling Pampers

“My name is Li Huilin, a student in Jiangnan University, China. My friend recommended eYeka to me last year, and since then I have been participating in lots of contests, specially in design & insight contest. They brought me so much fun to my life and they indeed explored my creativity. Because of eYeka, I have chances to know many creative people in the contests and for me it’s really exciting to see so many creative works from different creators.

I created all of the entries by myself, but I look forward to working with other creators too. Usually my inspiration comes from my own life and the magazines I read. For Pampers contest, I went to the shopping mall to check different diapers products, so I can have a basic idea on how to reinvent the packaging, it was interesting to do so. I was surprised that I won the First prize, still can’t believe it! Thanks eYeka and Pampers! “

Second Prize of EUR 1,500 goes to Will24 (Philippines) with Pampers New Heart design

“Although I am not a professional designer, I have always been interested in it. I like the idea of coming up with innovative ideas and sketching them up in a piece of paper. This Pampers contest has really got me interested because as a diaper consumer myself, I feel that at least I know somethings that could be developed to add functionality and appeal to the diaper packaging. I did not expect for my design to get chosen as one of the winners, knowing that there are a whole lot of other designs by professional designers entered in the contest! So when I got the congratulatory words from eYeka, I was really surprised. There’s no other feeling like winning and I feel very happy and honored that I won. Having won a couple of other contests in the past, I must say that joining eYeka has been a truly rewarding experience for an amateur like me and I encourage my fellow creators to keep on participating. Who knows, it might be you who will win next time ;)

Third Prize of EUR 500 goes to natyzea (Colombia) with Packaging design diapers

“Hi! My name is Natalia Zea, I’m from Medellin Colombia. I am working as Director of Advertising and Marketing in a company of oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Although my focus has always been in the area of marketing, I always love the creative process of making an advertisement. I have never been a believer of these competitions because I never won anything before. But when I saw the Pampers brief, I found it quite interesting so I dared to participate, although I never thought I would be one of the winners. I would like to say to all the artists: never give up! You have to show your ideas and it’s even better when they’re awared with a prize! Many thanks to eYeka and Pampers!”

Congratulation to the winners! And for everyone who have taken a part in this contest, well done and thank you very much !

ps : Due to the confidentiality of the contest, our client would prefer not to be published media. Thank you for your kind understanding.

Good bye eYeka!

Jul 20

Dear creators,

After three years working at eYeka, I would like to share a few words with you.

Working at eYeka has been an honnor and a wonderful experience, I have incredibly learned and discovered so much thanks to your creativity. Do you realize how many contests and media I have seen? All those amazing videos, smart designs and magic ideas from all over the world I got the chance to see?

I’m curious: have you ever thought about how my working days look like? A creative school playground! Seriously I truly spend all my time with you guys, just like schoolmates to whom I write, I answer, I give advice and listen to, and even sometimes have little arguments when someone try to cross the brief lines… Of course some of you noticed my little « teacher side », it is not so much surprising because I used to be a librarian after all!

Well I really want to thank you all because I feel lucky for what I lived during those 3 years: thanks a lot to the new and the old ones, the ones I met, the ones who used to ask for Flavie, the ones I sent thousands of emails, the ones who trusted me and the ones who stayed honest.

You guys guess the whole point of this: June was my last month at eYeka. I’m now going to look for new experiences and I’ll be leaving soon to visit Central America. You might be the ones who inspired me to live my dream, who knows?

This is the end my friends, and it also means a new beginning. I have to confess I will be missing you a bit, this is emotional good byes!

Take good care of you and may the creativity be with you.
One last thing: don’t ever forget to have fun.

The real taste of GOOD food

Jul 20

Packaging for food products can be very similar and pretty boring: most don’t look appetizing or whet one’s appetite. That’s why a leading grocery store company is looking to develop a range of packaging that communicates the “real taste of good food”.

So, your challenge for this contest is: to create packaging that celebrates the “real taste of good food”. Your packaging idea must stand out on the shelves, be modern and appetizing and importantly work consistently across 4 broad families of products while taking into account what consumers value.

IMPORTANT: to create your project, don’t forget that you have to use pictures and logo in the attached file in the brief to show us how your packaging design can work across the 4 broad categories.

Click here to read the brief and participate!

We have 5,000€ for the best prints/illustrations:

1st Prize 1,500€ up to 3,000€
2nd Prize 750€ up to 1,500€
3rd Prize 250€ up to 500€

Don’t forget to use the discuss tab or sent us an e-mail to support-en@eyeka.com if you have any doubt.

This contest goes until August 8th and we are anxious to see your projects!

Remy Martin winners!

Jul 19

Some weeks ago Remy Martin came to eYeka looking for a way to make the bottle stand out in the top bars or glamorous nightclubs. Remember?
You guys had plenty of nice ideas and really glorified the bottle. We had 36 accepted media for this contest, there were very original and elegant ideas, but the client finally choose his fab three.
Here they are! Well done, everyone!
You can see their comments in italics.

First Prize of EUR 3,000 goes to FlojoArt (Germany) with change the atmosphere

When I read the letter I was immediately on fire!! I always wanted to do something in that way! The basic idea I had for some time. But I had to adjust to Remy Martin still. I experimented with bottles and lights, and it came some cool results out of it. With the animation, I tried to give the same feeling. After long try around I was rather happy with the result. In this contest, I have invested much time and learned a lot. It is great and, a greater motivation if you have a goal, I’m even happier that it was enough for a price. It was not my last contest! Thank you eyeka!

Second Prize of EUR 1,500 goes to VegaFX (Italy) with Pulse – The Heart of Cognac

I participated in this contestI because the brief was seductive, I create using 3d studio max and vray for 3d, after effects and premiere for video compositing. Lately I am being inspired by the German metaphysics of Christian Wolff. I work alone (I suppose because I have a bad temper), and i bumped into eYeka randomly, sometimes surfing the net leads to unexpected shores.

Third Prize of EUR 1,000 goes to VisualCrow (Singapore) with Carpe Diem

I participated in this contest because the brief look interesting and I had free time :D .I usually create my work through 3d softwares and After Effect, I work in a team or alone depending on the difficulty of the task. My inspiration comes from anywhere basically.

Congratulation! And for everyone who have taken a part in this contest, well done and thank you very much!

PS: We are sorry we cannot show you the winning entries for privacy reasons. Thanks for your understanding.

Consumer Creativity at Cannes Lions

Jul 16

Hello eYeka Community!

Thanks to your amazing support we have brought consumer creativity at the Cannes Lions Festival!

The 2 workshops eYeka ran were extremely well received with many marketers, agencies and professional creatives getting a better understanding on how creative individuals contribute fresh and original ideas to solve the biggest marketing challenges.

Spot eYeka!

We showcased many examples of great work you produced, including the 3 most voted videos on our www.facebook.com/ROLcannes page. We also had the chance to talk to the organizers and we agreed to continue the discussion on opening up a new category to recognize creative individuals like YOU!
