Here are the winners of Bonafont contest!

May 31

You guys rock!!!

Your videos for the contest Create an engaging video to tell the story of “water eliminating the toxins that your body doesn’t need” were excellent! Some of them were very fun and made us smile!
The client has chosen the three most representative videos and today we are glat to announce the winners. Drum rolls, please…
Please find in italics the comments from the jury, followed by some words from the happy winners.

First Prize of EUR  5,000 goes to flojoART (Germany) with his video Cleaning without water?
This video was the more original. Great analogy between clean inside and outside and pass perfectly the importance of water to woman feeling completely clean.

This is the first time on eYeka that I won the first prize! Thank you very much! I couldn´t believe it!! There was a lot of great and funny entries! From the beginning I liked the “Bonafont” contest. The reasons are, that I like very much competitions about some healthy stuff, I could start directly because I know this product very well, I wanted work again with this actor (I worked already with Ekaterina for a different project) and I wanted already do long time some project with a green screen. Usually I do a lot animations, I love it!! But I also like to work with some actors and artists. For this contest I combined the actor with the animations. After a short planning phase I started directly with the recording and the animations for the water and the backgrounds. Till now I am working alone, but I show always the finished result my girlfriend! She is very critical J I love eYeka!! This gives me the chance, work on my animation-, director- and video skills and my future! Its great to get some feedback, and have contact with lot of great artists all over the world! Thank you very much!”

Second Prize of EUR 3,000 goes to Nehesh (India) with  Bonafont -A day in the life of lilly-Clip1
Great marker of accumulation of toxins and good visual elements to confirm it. This video shows clearly that the stressful life causes toxins that need to be eliminated.

This particular contest was based on a theme that our team believed in as a workable solution to most modern health problems. Hence, we decided to take our belief forward and get our idea out. Oh that’s simple we go at each other’s throats for about 2 hr like a no holds bar royal rumble cage match over ideas and who is right. Then Since we have two key individuals in our team . We split the work or idea into two elements one is looking at the demographic to which we are catering to and focusing what the viewer wants to see or will understand and comprehend . The other element is what the company wants to say. Deadlines are all the inspiration one will ever need. we work in a team, the team comprises of two members who’s creative ideas are in sync that makes our work flow more easy. A very dear friend of mine suggested me to enter because I produce music here in India and my partner is into photography so we decided to team up and make this happen.

Third Prize of EUR 2,000 goes to Lexitricity (UK) with Little Reminders
Very relevant topic. One of the main reasons of a low consumption of water is forget to do it. And this video addresses this issue in a very smart way.

After reading the brief I felt inspired to create something and Danone is a great brand, so this seemed like a good opportunity. The nice thing about a competition is that gives you a chance to interpret the brief in your own way and experiment with new ideas. Danone is obviously a great brand name to be associated with and, in my case, one I associate with my childhood as I grew up in France, so there is a bit of happy nostalgia there too! Generally whe i create my media, I like to take a relaxed approached and in order to do this, I believe preparation is important. Because I come from a background in Fine Art and Illustration, I like to use visual references such as story-boards, which I draw myself. It is so much easier being able to point to a picture on a page than trying to explain things verbally. I also find creating story-boards really focuses my mind and makes the project ‘real’. In the case of “Little Reminders” I got inspiration from real life. I am a busy woman – the very kind the advert is aimed at – I work hard and sometimes forget to keep up good habits. A little quirk of mine is leaving post-it notes to remind myself of things I need to do, so I just took this basic idea and created a story around it. I wanted to make an ad that was sweet and humorous, taking a light hearted approach. I enjoy working collaboratively and I have a team of people that I like to work with. Over time, we have become friends as well as work colleagues. While I often come up with the initial idea on my own, it is helpful to run your concepts passed other people whose opinion you trust. Film-making is a collaborative art-form. I might have a creative vision, but talking your concepts through and listening to suggestions is the best way to bring a project to life. I grew up between London and France on a diet of Art-House cinema and MTV. I started off in Illustration, before training at Central School of Speech & Drama, London, so you could describe me as an ‘actor’s director’ with drawing skills! I’ve made everything from short films and documentaries to commercials and award-winning music videos.

Congratulations! And for everyone who have taken a part in this contest, well done and thank you very much! We loved all of your creations :D

(Please see in italics the comments from the jury followed by some words from the happy winning creators)

First Prize of EUR 2,500 goes to KarineHimura from Brazil.
Really liked the idea of combining two different & complementary products in a same packaging to offer double care to all types of hairs. The packaging concept is not only nice and well branded but also very functional

I met eYeka over the net less than a year ago, I was looking for ways to improve my creativity, at the time I had just graduated and I wasn’t working yet, so I was looking for ways to participate into contests and show my works. eYeka is a very good platform for this, I would have never had the chance of working for a big brand such as Unilever if it wasn’t for eYeka. I decided to participate in this context specifically because I always use Sunsilk’s product but I suffer from allergic rhinitis and the combing creams made me sneeze all the time, especially because i used a lot of it! When I saw in the brief that I could invent a new parfume i thought that it was my opportunity! I don’t know much about parfumes thought, so I have created the new packaging which more related with my job. I always do a lot of researches before starting to work on the creation, I use many methods from various national and international designers: i search for info on the product, to know more about the brand which is asking for the work, their public, the product they would like. I also look for informations in the concurrents’ products, and i start sketching. As i go on with the researches the idea becomes clearer in my mind and i list all the requisites that i want my product to have and how it will look like. Then I choose among the alternatives i found, looking for the best solution. Only after i start thinking about the aestetics of the product, which needs to be functional before being nice!

Second Prize of EUR 1,500 goes to volodymyr_moskalets from Ukraine.
A singled-minded idea that expands Sunsilk product and brand experience to a new segment. Very clever!

I love to create something new. And the greatest happiness – is when your ideas are useful. I was very interested in the idea of creating a new product for Sunsilk – such a famous brand. I hope that one day women all over the world can appreciate my idea into practice. And hope they like it. Thanks a lot!

Third Prize of EUR 1,000 goes to alexchapuis from France.
Very innovative. It takes combining cream to a more fashion/beauty category. Inspiration for the brand moving forward.

I discover eyeka with a friend, I join in eyeka challenge to win more money and diversify my portfolio. Specifically I participated in Sunsilk challenge, because I love girly brief and beauty products. My creative process is: I look for the idea, I check the highness and the weakness of it, and when I begin the graphism I saw if it’s work.

Congratulation! And for everyone who have taken a part in this contest, well done and thank you very much!
P.S.: We apologize for not being able to show you the winning entries due to confidentiality reasons. Thanks for your understanding.

You have captured the best moment!

The eYeka’s 200,000th member is Madlink

May 28

Dear creators,

Did you know eYeka has recently passed the 200,000 creative members mark? Today we are proud to introduce our 200,000th member

Here he is: his username is Madlink and he comes from United Kingdom. This great british videomaker participated to 3 contests so far: LG Kompressor Follow Me, Kikkoman and Mikado Time. And he did win the 3rd Jury’s Prize of Mikado contest! Of course Madlink is not only a creator on eYeka, he works in a small video production company and also works part time in retail. Madlink and us had a little interview and we are happy to share it with you:

How did you hear about eYeka and what do you think about it?

I heard about eYeka from one of my friends who I work with producing music videos. I checked the site out and it seemed like a great opportunity to get creative and try ideas you usually don’t get, or even think, to do. The community also seemed pretty active, so I knew that if I had any problems, there were people out there ready to answer my questions. It’s also really great to see what the global creative community can do, as it gives you inspiration to take your ideas further.

How do you feel about our creative contests?
When you’re doing an eYeka project there’s lots of really great aspects to it. The ideas you have are fresh and sometimes out of your comfort zone, so you’re really pushing yourself creatively.  It’s great to watch the other entries roll in and see how differently everyone has interpreted the brief. It’s a genuine display of how different cultural aspects effects our methods of communication.
I only recently started eYeka projects, but I’ve finished three separate entries. Each entry takes a fair bit of planning, shooting and editing, so I’ve put a good amount of time in so far. I have to try and juggle this around my other commitments, but the eYeka projects have been really enjoyable and I can’t wait to get started on some more!

What do you think about co-creation can bring to Brands?
The brands that post challenges on eYeka are getting a great insight on how the entire world see them. The varied results from the eYeka community show what aspects of a certain brand appeal most to people all over the world and that must surely help them in future marketing endeavours. As eYeka projects really show how the average person feels about a particular brand and how they respond to it, the brands are getting a direct insight to the mind of the people buying their products. Information like that is invaluable.

Thank you very much Madlink for sharing your thoughts with us. We wish you the best and we hope you will keep on sharing your creativity on eYeka!

Well done!! :D And a BIG thank you for everyone who have taken a part in this contest. We surely enjoyed ourselves watching all of the submissions. You guys rock! :D

Redesign Pampers Packaging!

May 23

Diapers are symbolic of the huge change that a baby brings to a parent’s life. Diapers have always been both a necessity and a burden. Today modern parents see their baby as another part of their active lives. They want to be social, busy and stylish and still be recognized as good moms and dads. They want and can afford to have it all. Pampers is the world’s leading brand of diapers. It delivers trusted dryness at an affordable price, as well as new innovative, premium diapers for those who demand the very best.

Reinvent Pampers’ packaging for modern moms and dads who ask for more: a better and more premium experience when they buy, choose, carry, store and use Pampers. It should have both functional and aesthetic enhancements to create a better and more premium experience.

Please focus on the packaging design (the material, shape, structure, carry solution; etc.), NOT the diapers inside the pack, or the communication of the product/brand, or how it is sold in retail channels :)

For this contest we accept Pictures, illustrations, sketches, storyboards, and any visual medium that will allow you to describe your innovative idea! And we’ve 5,000€ for the winners:

1st Prize: EUR 3,000

zhangxiansheng: I discovered eYeka one year ago, I was surprised to see so many interesting contests so I registerred.
For this contest, I first did some background check about Rémy Martin, tried to get as much as information about the brand – This is very improtant, I always do this whenever I want to join a contest – and then started to think of the idea: it must be creative, original and meets the brand value. To be honest, I was having a hard time these few days because I was busy doing my final year project, but I was really excited when I heard that I won the First Prize of the contest. With so many contests in eYeka, I prefer to join insights contest, that’s why I chose Rémy Martin. I know the brand is targeting people around 30 years old, so I did some research about their consumption habits and then started to create my entry. An Interview with Chen Man – China’s leading fashion photographer!

May 18

Chances are you already know Chen Man, or at least have seen her work before. Born in Beijing, she went to high school at the Central Academy of Drama, and graduated college from Central Academy of Fine Arts in China.
At first, she focused on painting and sculpture but was soon drawn to the photography industry where she gained worldwide recognition with her stunning fashion photos.

Chen Man came to Paris last month for a photo shoot and was nice enough to spend some time with eYeka to discuss her work, creativity and share pieces of advice for the eYeka Community. Here’s the interview the Chen Man. Enjoy!

Chen Man

eYeka: You once said that the most important thing in photography is the “idea”, not the technology. You don’t need a good camera to get a nice photo, but your “creative consciousness”. Can you share with us more about this?

Chen Man: First of all, be yourself. You must be true to yourself and know what you want. Secondly, I think the “idea” is the most important part. You must let others know what you’re trying to express. Then, and only then, your photography toolkit comes into play.

Photography by Chen Man

eYeka: You have developed your own style in photography, and because of your success, some photographers are trying to copy your style. What do you think of that? Do you think modeling one’s style is also one of the ways to learn and to improve in photography?

Chen Man: Others have copied me since long ago. I think it’s a good recognition and it’s essential for me to be acknowledged as a photographer. Just like how I have a lot of followers on my Weibo, being copied is a foundation to build your own market.
I don’t really care being copied by the others as there are really no rules for taking great pictures, just resilience and hard work. In fact, I have always believed that as long as you keep on going and constantly innovate, no one can surpass you. Take a look at Lady Gaga. There are lots of people trying to imitate her, but she is still the top one. So be sure about yourself, never give up, and your talent will show!

Photography by Chen Man

eYeka: Can you share with us where does your inspiration usually come from?

Chen Man:  Basically my inspiration comes from life, my own life and that of people around me. I like to observe every single detail in my life and build on it. I feel like it is so colorful and there are simply too many things I want to express.   I don’t need to force myself to find inspiration, my work is influenced by the world we live in which is why it is complex. Right now for instance I focus on traditional Chinese philosophy, which I love, and how it applies to our modern world. In a way I try to mix the millenarian Chinese culture “hardware” with the Western culture “software”.

“RISE AND SHINE”  Photography by Chen Man

eYeka: Thank you, Chen! Last question, do you have any suggestions for our eYeka community?

Chen Man: I specially want to emphasize about plagiarism issue. Some creators may be unhappy if someone else copied their works. I feel ashamed as well that in my country, China, there’s no special law or regulations to protect and enforce the copyrights.
I want to say to your creators that I am experiencing the same thing as they do. However, deep down it should not be a concern. As long as you keep on improving yourself and bring forth new ideas, others will not overtake you. A professional once told me that: “You have been copied for long, but you have never been overtaken.” This would be my advice to your Community!

Thanks again Chen Man for the advice to eYeka community! If you want to know more about her or her works, check out her website here :)
If you want to put her tips into action, don’t hesitate to jump in one of our contests!
