Important: About ‘Be The Change!’ Contest

Jan 30

Hello everyone,

With one week to go before Coca-Cola ‘Be The Change!’ contest ends, we have received numerous great entries. However, some of the entries still seem to be out of brief.

So once again, we would like to take this chance to clarify what we are actually expecting from you:

1) There has to be a story. Yes, we do receive some entries which tell stories, but it lacks of the WHY factor. Your entry needs to show WHY taking steps to try something new or different creates the most exhilarating experience in one’s life.

2) The story has to be shown through your image/video, NOT only in the description. We need to understand the story when we look at your design or when we watch your video.

The 2 points above are the most critical. Therefore, kindly take note of them when you are creating your awesome entry. ;)

We hope this will make things clearer. Should you have any question, please address it to support-en@eyeka.com and we will be happy to assist you.

Cheers!

What is your creative inspiration?

Jan 26

Hello everyone!

As a platform that provides a place for your creativity, we definitely would like to know more about what actually inspired you in coming up with those creative ideas you always show us on eYeka.

Therefore, we would like to invite you to fill in a survey so we can know more about your opinion on sources of creativity. Don’t worry, there will only be 2 questions, so it won’t take so much of your time. ;)

We will really appreciate it should you be willing to take just a few minutes out of your busy schedule to fill in the short survey. Your answers will be very valuable to us. You can type your answers in the dedicated spaces below:

Thank you so much in advance for your time. :)

Reinvent beer packaging!

Jan 20

Have you ever noticed that even though there are so many new types of beers, beer packaging has remained pretty traditional? Do you think beer packaging deserves a more fascinating and exciting future? Can you imagine how beer packaging could impact the rituals around beer?

If you do, today is your chance to invent a new beer packaging concept, for tomorrow’s beer lovers!
Through photos, powerPoint presentations, illustrations, 3D animations or videos, any visual medium that will allow you to express your idea in a clear way, create a totally new, innovative and original beer packaging concept! This packaging could change the way we shop for, buy, carry, store, drink and recycle beer!

Think about all the different types of packaging, not only bottles or cans, but also the case, box or other packaging used to carry them. Think beyond these current layers of packaging to even the unimaginable that does not yet exist.

To enter this contest, you must be 21 or above :)
Also, here’s a friendly reminder: please answer the following two questions in media description when upload your entry:
1. Thinking of your ideal evening out, when would you most likely use your new beer? (Pre-going out, the build up, the peak or the wind down? Or some other time?) Why then?
2. What new benefits or features does your Packaging idea bring that do not yet exist? Why is it better than what’s already out there?

We have 5,000 € up to win with 5 Jury’s Prizes of 1,000 € each !

Contest will end on February 1, 2012. Hurry to participate!

Gemalto winners!

Jan 16

What if your card had a screen?
Well, you guys had some fantastic ideas! We are happy we can now share the winners with you, but first of all a big thank you all for your insights.
Please find the jury’s comments in italics.

1st Prize of 1000 € goes to brule (from France).
Budget card: We have first chosen this creation because it has impressed us with two aspects: firstly the idea that a card can be used to plan the family budget, but mostly we have been impressed by the manner you used to express this concept. In fact you were not the only one proposing this idea, but you have been by far the one who has been able to express this shared need in a clear way. You have found a solution exploiting the whole range of characteristics of the card, using at the same time the screen and the keypad. It is a great job and very well executed.

2nd Prize of 1000 € goes to stephan87 (from France).
Responsible card: Choosing this card we wanted to reward you for your ability to convince us. You have been able to conduct your idea keeping in mind the challenges of the market and the possibilities of the card on the market. You have performed a deep insight on both the product and the costumer’s behaviour and we could see it reflected in your media. You have showed a real ‘marketing spirit’. You have identified a change in the mind of the consumers and exploited it to give the DisplayCard more than just an extra feature, but also a real responsible purpose.

3rd Prize of 1000 € goes to superrockgalaxy (from France).
Transport card: You have been able to find an innovative idea staying within the limits of the technical features of the card sticking to the brief. We have appreciated your ability to problematize a need of the market and your ability to convince us, especially using facts coming from real supports like Twitter to support your ideas.

4th Prize of 1000 € goes to skhuters (from United Kingdom).
Warranty card: Your creation seduced us by the first two ideas it gives. The two other ideas you give were also interesting but less original, as other participants also proposed them. However you are the only one to have imagined a card that could be used as a memory for transactions, replacing warranty papers. You succeeded in detecting a need in consumer’s everyday life.

5th Prize of 1000 € goes to elvus (from France).
Internet Password card: Security of email exchanges and electronic transactions (payment over the internet…) is of utmost experience to our company. Consumers balance between convenience and security, fear or fraud. Hence your suggestion has been selected as the display could be a very smart way of offering both convenience and increased security for online transactions.

Congratulations for the winners and thank you very much to all for your participation!

Re-design the famous Jell-O packaging!

Jan 16

Jell-O

Jell-O really makes the world wiggle! Jell-O gelatin and pudding are North American favorites. There is a box in nearly every family’s kitchen cupboard, and ready to eat Jell-O cups go with almost every child to school. It is simple, easy to use and comes in great flavors.

Today we think that Jell-O deserves new packaging that will create even more fun and joyful moments!

Follow that link to see the complete brief!

There is ONE area that your creation must cover: the form and function of the packaging itself. How can it be more fun? Think about its shape, how it could open, how it could be used even when emptied, what other things could go inside?

5,000 € up to win with 5 Jury’s Prizes of 1,000 € !

Please try our discuss tab if you have some questions.

Contest will end on January the 30th.

Don’t change the food itself.

Who kept the rhythm the best?

Jan 13

Keep the Rhythm

For this contest, your challenge was about creating a rough of campaign (video or print) that will convince people of the importance of being at one’s own rhythm, with the help of yogurt and the impact it has on your own wellbeing and daily life: feeling truly well.

Here are the Jury choices!
In Italic, you can find the Jury feedback. NEW: we added as well the winners feedback! Enjoy :D

1st Prize of 1000€ goes to Stijlhard from Belgium.
Good execution of belly/rhythm with possible digital roll-out.

Stijlhard: “A few months ago we discovered eYeka. It’s a great platform for us, because it’s not always easy for creative people to find good commercial opportunities to work for. With eYeka we can just do that. And that’s why we want to be part of your community.

When we discovered the brief of the Keep The Rhythm-contest, we knew it was something we had to do. We really liked the brief and started discussing/developping ideas for the campaign. Once we had the bellybeat idea we called some friends of us and ask them if the wanted to play rhythms on their belly.
After the shooting, we did the postproduction and made a presentation of the idea (which we also uploaded as a pdf). We strongly believe this concept can generate a lot of commercial possibilities (spot, website, interaction,…). Everything was done by two guys: Dimitri J. and Steven J.”

2nd Prize of 1000€ goes to FuzzyToons from United Kingdom.
Good execution of rhythm, message clearly transmitted.

FuzzyToons: “I enjoy creating both music and animation, therefore certain parts of this brief really excited me. I could imagine an exciting project in which the images worked in time with the music. So I turned the human body into a mini orchestra. The brain was made of cogs and this made a clicking sound. The heart was a drum which provided the main beat and the stomach was a saxophone providing the notes. From this idea I created the story of how the yogurt helps the person to keep their inner rhythm. I worked alone on this project and I combined my various skills including music as well as design and animation.”

3rd Prize of 1000€ goes to MSTR from Germany.
Funny and self explanatory execution.

MSTR “I like being creative, that´s why I joined eyeka. I´m a music teacher and I love to record music and play with different sounds. When I saw the brief about the “inner rhythm” I knew: This is something for me. So I came up with the idea that some people are making music together, rhythmically, and one guy who´d like to join, but has no rhythm at all. I decided to clone myself for this idea, because I work totally on my own. I´m very happy that I could be among the five winners and I´m looking forward to see the other contests.”

4th Prize of 1000€ goes to giovino from Italy.
Good key visual to transmit rhythm improvement.

giovino: “I like very much to create video, shorts or commercials. I’m currently working in several situations and I made a lot of calls for video. eYeka is a good dimension in which it is so easy to find an hard motivation to invent. eYeka gives to me the “fuel” to invent or reinvent through video dimension.

I knew about eYeka website through an internet search: there was a lot of forums that discuss about eYeka as one of the most important video contest. So… why not try to make video for eYeka?

I work with my friend Valerio D. B. We worked a lot together because we are both “visionary” and we like to create original artistic products. This is the second award for us.
It would be really fantastic if some company watch our videos on eYeka and then call us in order to cooperate (we hope to work with International partners)!

My video was made through stop motion technique (about 500 shots). We think that this kind of shooting make interesting all things you show: it is a funny and surreal technique. So the user (the viewer) pays attention to all details without missing the meaning of video as well as keeping the “rhythm” for the whole duration.
What’s more, we give a lot of importance to music, to female voice and to real sounds (we think that mouth sounds produced when you eat the yogurt can make high the desire to bring a spoon and to enjoy your favorite yogurt).”

5th Prize of 1000€ goes to nastasi from Russian Federation
Good key visual to transmit rhythm improvement.

nastasi did not share her feedback yet but it is her second time winning on eYeka.

Congrats to the winners and thank you for sharing. Congratulations to all participants as well, you all did a great job. See you soon on eYeka!

It saves time, saves money and makes shopping fun, what is it?

Jan 13

Imagine that you have a digital personal shopper: a veritable personal assistant, a tool that would help you on a day-to-day basis with your shopping needs.

It would be for example something like a small digital assistant which when you want to buy laundry detergent will tell you where to buy it cheaply in your vicinity at the time. Not only will it find the shop but plot a course that will take you by your friend’s house to grab a coffee along the way.

Say goodbye to the humdrum of shopping, with your personal shopper everything will be faster, more efficient, more fun! This tool could be a brand new type of digital device or a new application for an existing device that would fundamentally change the relationship between you and the shopping you do as well as the shops that you visit.

Imagine that tool in a presentation, illustration, animation or comic strip.

What would be your expectations for such a tool? What functionalities? What’s its name? How would the tool fulfill the following three key functions: save time, save money and make shopping more fun?
